Aeration & Oxygen Systems
Oxygen Where the Water Needs It
Aeration changes the conditions within the water by increasing contact between air or oxygen and the water itself. Solari Water and Energy uses aeration, air diffusion and oxygen supply systems to support dissolved oxygen requirements and water quality across production, agricultural and industrial applications.
Aeration That Supports the Water System
Effective oxygen transfer starts with the right aeration approach.
Aeration is used to increase contact between air and water, helping oxygen move into the water where it can support treatment and production requirements. How that oxygen is introduced — and how much is required — depends on the application, water conditions and operating environment.
Solari Water and Energy works with different aeration and oxygen delivery approaches, from air diffusion through to concentrated oxygen supply, allowing the method to be matched to the role it needs to perform and the requirements of the wider water system.
More Than Adding Air
Effective aeration is about achieving useful oxygen transfer and movement within the water, rather than simply creating visible bubbles. Fine-bubble diffusion increases the contact area between air and water, allowing oxygen to transfer while also creating movement through the water column. The delivery method needs to suit the water volume, depth, flow and oxygen demand.
More Effective Gas Transfer
Aeration can do more than increase dissolved oxygen. Effective gas transfer can support biological treatment, mixing, oxidation and water circulation, while also working alongside other treatment processes within the wider water system.
Why Aeration & Oxygen Matter
Aeration and oxygen delivery can support water quality and treatment performance where dissolved oxygen is an important part of the process. The method used depends on the oxygen demand, water conditions and how efficiently oxygen needs to be transferred.
Different applications place different demands on oxygen delivery. Matching the aeration method and oxygen source to those requirements helps provide the conditions needed within the water.
Support Dissolved Oxygen
Increasing dissolved oxygen can help maintain the water conditions required for production and treatment processes, particularly where consistent oxygen availability is important to performance.
Improve Gas Transfer
The way air or oxygen is introduced affects how effectively it transfers into the water. An appropriate delivery method helps improve contact and make better use of the available gas.
Match Oxygen to Demand
Where Aeration & Oxygen Systems Can Be Applied
Aeration and oxygen delivery can support water systems across production, agricultural and industrial environments.
The required approach depends on the water conditions, oxygen demand and role dissolved oxygen plays within the application.
Irrigation & Horticulture
Support oxygen availability and water quality within irrigation and controlled production water systems.
Aquaculture
Maintain dissolved oxygen conditions required to support fish and other aquatic production systems.
Biological Water Treatment
Provide oxygen where biological treatment processes depend on aerobic conditions to operate effectively.
Industrial Water
Support process and treatment water applications where dissolved oxygen or controlled oxygen delivery is a required water condition.
Evidence In The Real World
Solari air diffuser technology has been used in demanding water environments where restoring dissolved oxygen and supporting biological recovery were central to the treatment objective. The V&A Waterfront project provides documented evidence of fine-bubble aeration operating at substantial scale.
V&A Waterfront — Cape Town
Dissolved oxygen restored across the yacht basin
Following a severe oxygen-depletion event, 75 Solari high-efficiency air diffusers were installed throughout the V&A Waterfront yacht basin, supplied by two roots blowers. The system delivered 750 m³/hr of air, with documented oxygen transfer of 1,650 kg O₂ per day.

Aeration & Oxygen Systems for Different Applications
Solari Water and Energy offers a range of nanobubble systems designed for different water volumes, operating environments and treatment requirements. From compact installations to higher-flow applications, each system can be selected and integrated around the water source, required gas transfer and intended outcome.
Rather than treating nanobubble generation as a standalone piece of equipment, Solari considers how it needs to work with the wider water system — including oxygen supply, pumping and other treatment technologies where required.
Industrial Oxygen Concentrators
PSA oxygen concentrators provide an on-site source of concentrated oxygen for applications where a nanobubble system requires a dedicated oxygen supply. Oxygen generation can be matched to the requirements of the system.
Booster Oxygen Concentrators
Booster configurations combine oxygen generation with increased delivery pressure, providing a supporting oxygen source where the nanobubble equipment or system configuration requires higher-pressure gas supply.
Solari Air Diffusers
Solari Air Diffusers provide fine-bubble aeration to support oxygen transfer, mixing and water circulation. Their semi-flexible, self-ballasted design allows straightforward installation in tanks, lagoons and other water bodies, with different configurations available.
Put Aeration & Oxygen to Work
The right aeration approach starts with understanding the water, oxygen demand and role oxygen needs to perform. Solari Water and Energy can assess those requirements and determine how aeration, oxygen supply and supporting treatment technologies should work together within the wider water system.
