Reliable Water Infrastructure for Regional Communities
Councils and regional communities manage water across a wide range of infrastructure, from drinking-water supply and treatment through to wastewater, reservoirs, waterways and pumping systems.
Solari Water and Energy brings together practical water-treatment technologies and supporting infrastructure to address water quality, treatment and reliability across community water systems.
Water Challenges for Local Government
Local government water infrastructure needs to manage changing source-water conditions, treatment requirements and essential services across communities and regional areas. The right treatment approach depends on the water source, existing infrastructure and how the water needs to be managed.
Drinking & Source Water Quality
Raw and source-water conditions can vary considerably, requiring effective filtration and treatment before water enters community supply and distribution systems.
Waterways, Waste & Stored Water
Wastewater, reservoirs and waterways can present different oxygenation, aeration and water-quality challenges requiring treatment appropriate to the individual water body or system.
Water Infrastructure & Reliability
Regional and remote water systems depend on reliable pumping, treatment and supporting infrastructure to maintain water services across dispersed communities.
Drinking & Source
Water Quality
Councils need to manage source water that can change with seasonal conditions, rainfall and the characteristics of the individual catchment or supply. Suspended material, turbidity and other water-quality issues need to be addressed before water moves into community treatment and distribution systems.
Managing Variable Source Water
Filtration can form a key stage in preparing raw water for downstream treatment. OV AFM filtration can be incorporated to remove suspended material and unwanted particulate matter, with the treatment configuration determined by the incoming water conditions and required water quality.
Supporting the Treatment Process
Where required, ZPM can provide controlled in-line mixing to support coagulation and flocculation, distribution of introduced treatment products and preparation of water for downstream filtration or treatment.
OV AFM Filtration
Filtration for suspended material and particulate matter.
Z Filter
Controlled in-line mixing to support treatment processes and downstream filtration.
Waterways, Wastewater
& Stored Water
Councils manage water beyond drinking-water supply, including wastewater, treatment lagoons, reservoirs and community waterways. These water bodies can experience changing dissolved oxygen, circulation and water-quality conditions that require active management.
Oxygenation for Water Management
Nanobubble oxygenation can be applied where increased dissolved oxygen is required within wastewater, stored water or larger water bodies. Treatment can be configured around the characteristics and management objectives of the individual system.
Aeration & Circulation
Air diffusers provide fine-bubble aeration within lagoons, reservoirs and other water bodies, supporting oxygen transfer and circulation as part of a broader water-management approach.
Nanobubble Oxygenation
Oxygenation for wastewater, stored water and waterway management.
Air Diffusers
Fine-bubble aeration for lagoons, reservoirs, wastewater & waterways.
Water Infrastructure & Service Reliability
Regional and remote communities depend on water infrastructure operating reliably across supply, treatment, storage and distribution. Distance, site conditions and the demands placed on pumping and treatment equipment can all influence how these systems need to be configured.
Supporting Regional Water Infrastructure
Pumping, treatment and distribution infrastructure needs to be designed around the water source, required flows and operating conditions of the individual community or facility.
Energy for Water Systems
Where appropriate, solar and battery systems can be integrated with water-related infrastructure to support pumping and treatment equipment, particularly where access to reliable grid power is limited or additional energy resilience is required.
Solar & Battery
Supporting energy infrastructure for regional water treatment and pumping systems.
Isisford Drinking Water System
Regional drinking-water treatment for Longreach Regional Council using OV AFM filtration within the wider treatment system.
Regional Drinking Water — Isisford
Solari Water and Energy worked with Longreach Regional Council on an upgrade to the Isisford drinking-water system, treating source water drawn from the Barcoo River and council dam.
The project incorporated OV AFM filtration within the treatment system, together with pre-filtration, treatment redundancy and ZPM/chlorination as part of the wider process.
Supporting Regional Water Supply
The Isisford project provides a practical example of water treatment configured around the needs of a regional community, its available source water and existing infrastructure. Independent NATA testing was used to assess treated water against the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
Raw Water Aeration
Regional Raw Water Management
A project for Moree Plains Shire Council addressing raw-water conditions within the supply serving Boggabilla and Toomelah. The project demonstrates the use of aeration within regional source-water infrastructure.
Landfill Leachate
Managing Challenging Wastewater
The Polmaise project demonstrates a treatment application for landfill leachate, providing relevant supporting evidence for councils managing waste facilities and associated wastewater streams.
Waterfront Water Treatment
Aeration for Larger Water Bodies
An international application demonstrating the use of fine-bubble air diffusion within a large waterfront environment. It provides supporting evidence to managed waterways and larger water bodies.
